We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist to join the Advanced Genomics team at Resilience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cell biology and will be responsible executing and analyzing data from complex cell-based assays. These studies will drive the understanding of cell state and associated functional properties to understand the effects of genetic manipulation of cells in the context of biomanufacturing processes of gene- and cell-therapy products. The candidate will be responsible to conducting and interpreting these high-dimensional data to drive project goals in a cross-functional team setting of bench-scientists, bioinformaticians and automation engineers

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive novel technology evaluation and development to address unique analytical and process challenges in cell therapy.
  • Develop and optimize cell-based assays for functional screening and characterization of cell states.
  • Employ cutting-edge tools, such as high-dimensional flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and multiplexed immunoassays to develop scientific hypotheses relating to cellular phenotypes.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on immune cell biology to support technology development and project decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including molecular biologists, data-scientists, and automation engineers to advance projects.
  • Stay current with scientific literature and advancements in the field to incorporate new techniques and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, patents, and regulatory submissions.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Strong background in cellular and molecular such as readouts of cell viability, activity, and immunological status.
  • Familiarity with analysis algorithms to acquire and interpret multidimensional cellular imaging datasets.
  • Extensive experience with cell culturing techniques and knowledge of pharmacological and genetic cell manipulation protocols.
  • General understanding of cell processing techniques, including cell separation, genetic modification (vector transduction and genomic editing), formulation, cryopreservation and cell culture.
  • Expertise in one or more of the standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, ddPCR, NGS, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of concepts and experimental techniques employed in gene- and cell- therapy research.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience with automation and high-content imaging systems.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Publication record demonstrating expertise in assay development and cellular analysis.
