Notre Dame Law School Exoneration Justice Clinic – Re-Entry Coordinator
Established in 2020, the Notre Dame Law School Exoneration Justice Clinic (EJC) offers law students hands-on experience representing wrongfully convicted clients. Committed to correcting miscarriages of justice, the clinic focuses on investigating, litigating, and overturning wrongful convictions.
Position Overview:
The Exoneration Justice Clinic Re-Entry Coordinator (REC) plays a crucial role in ensuring exonerees have a smooth and successful transition from prison to society.
Key Responsibilities:
Creation of a Re-Entry Manual (REM) (50%)
- Develop a detailed and comprehensive Re-Entry Manual (REM).
- Include a list of Indiana-based public and private programs and resources to assist exonerees in transitioning from prison life.
- Detail federal, state, and private employment and job training programs, including eligibility requirements, procedures, and contacts for application.
Coordinating Access to Resources and Programs (30%)
- Match exonerees’ needs with available resources and programs.
- Assist exonerees in accessing and applying for relevant programs.
- Aid in filling out applications accurately and accompany exonerees to program offices for meetings or interviews.
Creation of a Needs Assessment Questionnaire (20%)
- Develop a comprehensive Needs Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ).
- Identify immediate, short-term, and long-term needs of exonerees before their release, including food, clothing, housing, employment, education, training, and medical, dental, and mental healthcare.
- Assist inmates in completing the NAQ in anticipation of their release.
This is a 1-year limited-term position, with the possibility of renewal.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent work experience
- Some social work experience
- Experience working with prison inmates in education, training, or some other relevant field
- Highly organization
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Mission oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree in Social Work preferred but not required
