Scope of Position

In this role the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) will have direct supervision of Site Mangers who oversee successful delivery of operational KPI results for renewable energy power plants within a regional portfolio. ROM will identify and drive continuous improvements opportunities with a goal to increase projects' performance and availability, while being on the forefront of cost management and productivity of the region. He/She will coach and guide Site Managers to ensure they have the skillsets, resources, and competencies to deliver on their KPIs, and reinforce diligence in planning, adherence to budgets, processes, and procedures. ROM will champion EDFR approach to safety and all ongoing organizational efforts to achieve operational success while having the accountability for the EDF RS Profit & Loss statement (PnL) for the applicable regional Cost Center. ROM will act as the head coach and voice of "how to" for both the site management and field personnel, while preserving the culture of safety, accountability, empowerment, and ownership to achieve successful plant level results.

Responsibilities
    Exhibit safety behaviors that are in line with our company safety culture, HSE standards and procedures.
  • Drive towards successful Safety audits and address safety audit results.
  • Closely monitor teams' proactive reporting of safety incidences, while making sure there is a cross sharing and learning within his regional cost center and across AO.
  • Work with the project sites, HSE and external agencies to identify and resolve deficiencies and gaps in safety performance.
  • Perform safety observations and/or team engagements as required per company goals.
  • Accountable for the EDF RS Profit & Loss statement (PnL) within the regional Cost Center while providing an oversight for the applicable sales contracts prepared and managed by Site Managers.
  • Manage profitability and productibility of the region through providing an oversight and guidance on value creation and cost saving opportunities to meet or exceed KPI targets.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of operational goals with clear metrics.
  • Deliver performance evaluation program and conduct ongoing performance evaluation of Site Managers.
  • Develop operational competence and training evaluation framework for Site Managers.
  • Identify and help in delivering on training needs for both Site Managers and field personnel and help them strategize and deliver on staffing needs.
  • Drive and share lessons learned within the region, while supporting a continuous improvement approach towards the business.
  • Champion and foster company's mission and set an example by operating within the boundaries of the company core values.
  • Working with site teams to deliver expected operational and financial performance outcomes for the assets.
  • Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement Support.
  • Employee development and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

50-65% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 35-50% of time is spent outside of the office visiting project sites, training, and evaluating Site Managers and projects' performance.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in managing industrial, manufacturing or power generating facilities with renewable energy plant technologies being a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leading (O&M) front line personnel.
  • Experience in working in matrixed environment.
  • Successful in supervision and development of people.
  • Tangible examples of proven success in managing operations.
  • Clear understanding of budgets, variance analysis and their impact on Profit and Loss Statements of sales contracts, for the region and the business unit as a whole.
  • Two-to-four-year degree in engineering, operations management or business, or equivalent years of combined experience required.
  • High School Diploma a must.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities -

  • Strong interpersonal skills - capable of building relationships, a good listener with outstanding interpersonal influencing qualities and a natural consultative style; builds positive relationships with others including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building; and demonstrates active listening and practices open, honest, and direct communication.
  • Fluent with common industrial operations management tools, techniques, and methods - SAP, SCADA, data management software, ERP or similar
  • Strong passion for helping the company succeed and doing what it takes to develop successful employees; has the courage to talk straight and ask the tough questions; open to and accepting of change, adapting to our evolving business; proactively challenges status quo and identifies solutions.
  • Supports and enthusiastically participates in Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts to reduce costs, improve service, and increase efficiency.
  • CI mindset using agile, lean six sigma, and traditional project management principles and practices and blending them together in the right proportions to fit the region, the projects and AO business environment.
  • Proficient in MS office suite

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to view video display terminal images < 18" away from face for extended periods of time - up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time - up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift and pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
  • Ability to climb Wind Turbine Generators as needed.

This role's annual base salary range is between $102,000 and $171,000.
