Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Assistant Athletics Director | Creative Video for Maryland Football will work as a member of the Maryland Football staff with direct supervision from the Chief of Staff for Head Coach Michael Locksley, and will have a dotted line report to the Associate Athletics Director of Broadcasting & Production.

The Assistant AD | Creative Video for Maryland Football will oversee the day to day operations of the creative video unit for the Maryland Football program. The primary responsibilities will include oversight of: ideating, shooting, and editing for distribution of creative video content to help drive the strategic priorities of the program and the bottom line. The priorities will include: recruiting efforts, program storytelling, and enhancing deliverables to student-athletes to help with Name, Image, and Likeness prospecting.

The Assistant Athletics Director | Creative Video for Maryland Football will have oversight of an Assistant Director | Creative Video for Maryland Football and will work with them to establish yearly and quarterly goals for the development, production, and distribution of season-long video productions, recruiting content, and internal team motivational elements.

This position will oversee the hiring and teaching students to assist with responsibilities, providing real-world experience in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Video Production, graphic design, or a related field with experience.

Experience:
  • 5 years of experience with non-linear editing (Premiere, Final Cut), graphics programs (Photoshop, Illustrator), and two (2) years experience with motion graphics programs (After Effects, Cinema 4D).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with Mac systems and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to produce and create exciting audio-visual mediums

Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends. This position will travel with the team.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with Division I Power-5 production experience, specifically with a revenue-generating sport, and to those with provable experience in event video production.

  • The scope of the position frequently requires weekend, evening and holiday work (Non-standard work hours). 
  • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; Constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. 
  • Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing and lifting up to 30 pounds (Transport of all video equipment, including cameras, tripods, projectors, screens, etc).
