WHAT YOU'LL DO
Under the general direction of the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness provides overall district-wide coordination and leadership of institutional effectiveness, academic affairs, student services, research and planning, grants, and workforce development, recommending steps forward to the Chancellor.
The Vice Chancellor provides overall leadership and integrated strategic planning including coordination and evaluation of district-wide academic and student services programs, and development and implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to such services in order to promote innovative and effective student learning and development. The Vice Chancellor works collaboratively with the campus Presidents, Vice Presidents and appropriate staff to support instruction, student services, planning, and accreditation at the district and the colleges.

Support and facilitate the design, delivery, and evaluation of academic programs for the district, including all degree, certificate, program, and curriculum offerings, including credit and noncredit, transfer, vocational, international education, dual enrollment, distance education, and other academic programs; supports the curriculum planning, development, and review process for new instructional programs and courses and to improve existing programs and courses and provides district wide consolidation of student success research results, including recommendations for improvement. Coordinate the development and implementation of district-wide student support programs and services, including the functions within student success and support services , and management of data required by the State Chancellor's Office. E
Lead the development and implementation of the district's strategic plan including integration with the colleges' education plans. Coordinate the development of data-driven goals and overall objectives for the district's educational and student services with on-going monitoring of progress towards goals and preferred outcomes. E
Support the development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of processes for the ongoing data-driven review and enhancement of academic and student services programs to maintain a positive accreditation status and continued improvement in student learning; lead and coordinate program review activities at the district office; integrate district program review with processes of review on the campuses and serve as district accreditation liaison officer working with college accreditation liaison officers and AACJC as district accreditation liaison officer. Maintain accreditation evidence files required at the district in addition to evidence files maintained by each college. E
Coordinate the district's enrollment management process and efforts, and support strategies at the colleges to meet the annual FTES goals. E
Support college efforts in workforce and economic development, contract education programs, and other initiatives to meet the needs of local and regional employers; coordinate grant development opportunities for the district. E
Serve as a clearinghouse and repository for consolidated institutional effectiveness and district information related to student success and alumni facts and district level communication. Work with the Director of Communications to effectively present district-wide data. E
Develop and manage district-level budgets for areas of responsibility. E
Report to the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees about matters related to academic affairs, student services, workforce development, grants, research, and planning. Report on institutional effectiveness and progress of integrated planning across all areas of activity. E
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office and staff. E
Support Title IX compliance, reporting, and training requirements. E
Review, analyze, and evaluate legislation, legal mandates, regulations, and guidelines that may affect the district's academic affairs and student services and advise the Chancellor and Board of Trustees accordingly. E
Coordinate and facilitate the design, preparation, maintenance, and submittal of state and federal reports pertaining to educational services. E
Represent the district by initiating, developing and maintaining relationships with local and regional high schools, colleges, universities, and other agencies. E
Monitor developments in the field to remain current on innovative and effective strategies, programs, and practices; evaluate, select, and introduce new educational services, programs, tools, strategies, and resources. E
Serve as a liaison to support communication between District Office and the colleges related to national, statewide, and county information affecting academic affairs, student learning, and student services. E
Perform other duties as assigned.
E = Essential function
Master's degree from a recognized accredited college or university, and
(a) One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.
(b) Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identify, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
$208,786 - $244,975
Fringe benefits include family medical, dental, life, and vision insurance plans. The work year is 12 calendar months, including 20 vacation days per year, two floating holidays, and an additional three days off during the winter break.

A.) A completed District Application for Management Employment.
B.) A letter of application, no more than five pages, that includes the date, applicant's name, and the position for which the applicant wishes to be considered. In the letter, the applicant must demonstrate how s/he meets the Minimum Qualifications. The letter should describe the applicant's understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, ethnic and disability backgrounds of community college students. The letter should also give the Committee a clear understanding of how s/he will contribute, as a fully participating member of the Ventura County Community College District, to addressing the departments Institutional Strengths and Opportunities,
C.) A current resume summarizing educational and administrative background and experience.
D.) Attach to your letter of application a list of eight references, including names, titles, email addresses, and telephone numbers from the following constituent groups: two supervisors, two direct reports (including one support staff member), two community members, and two faculty members. The applicant should identify the constituent group of which each reference is a member. These references will not be contacted without the candidate's permission.
E.) Official or unofficial copies of college/university transcripts demonstrating attainment of minimum qualifications. Transcripts must show the degree title and the date the degree was conferred or the degree will not be considered for the purpose of determining if you meet minimum qualifications. Diplomas will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts. An official copy of your transcripts will be required upon being hired.

The screening committee will review and screen all applications. The committee will invite the most qualified applicants to an initial interview. Following this, the Chancellor will interview the candidates recommended by the screening committee for final consideration. Applicants will be reimbursed for travel expenses in accordance with District guidelines. More details pertaining to travel reimbursement will be provided to those who are invited to an interview.
