The successful applicant is expected to teach a variety of courses, including Child and Adolescent Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, History and Systems, Experimental Psychology, Research Methods, and Senior Seminar. As Chair, the selected applicant will be tasked with articulating a vision and strategic plan for the department, as well as coordinate the execution of the department's educational programs with the faculty, schedule courses and assign instructors to courses in consultation with program directors, the faculty, and the dean's office. The appointment will include, but not be limited to: monitoring and adjusting course registrations and course instructor assignments, reviewing departmental programs for relevancy and enhancements, evaluating faculty, and shepherding processes for faculty re/appointments and faculty promotionandtenure. Thesuccessfulcandidateservesasacentralfigureincommunicatingandaddressing concerns of internal and external constituents on the departmental level.
