Unit Description:
University Housing serves as a unit within DASA. University Housing is a comprehensive department that provides services and high-impact experiences for over 10,000 on-campus residents through residence life, residential learning, housing operations, facilities and business operations, administration and occupancy management and conference services. University Housing is seeking an executive assistant to join our team and support the position of Executive Director of University Housing; Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) & Associate Dean of the Office of Student Life and Advocacy. This position manages the day-to-day administrative operations for the University Housing office, to include supervision of the University Housing front desk and the Housing Support Specialist. As the primary administrative contact for University Housing, this position plays a critical role in facilitating seamless communication and coordination within the department and with external stakeholders. This position researches, prioritizes and addresses incoming issues on behalf of the AVC and coordinates closely with the Office of Student Life and Advocacy to triage and resolve student and parent concerns. A successful candidate is driven to perform all duties of the office with excellence, confidentiality, discretion and attention to detail. This position requires a person that is inherently organized, possesses strong emotional intelligence and a calm demeanor that are essential to understand needs and respond to issues that require a rapid response. The primary focus of this position is to support the position of Executive Director and AVC in scheduling meetings, travel and specific events, and to ensure a smooth process that ensures the AVC is fully prepared for all activities. This position requires a high degree of discretion and diplomacy that fosters positive relationships with those interacting with University Housing. A strong candidate will be proactive, flexible, resourceful, compassionate, approachable, thorough and an excellent communicator.

Minimum Experience/Education
High School diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or graduation with an associate’s degree in Business Administration, or a related discipline and three to five years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Department Required Skills
