DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, performs in depth complex daily coding of inpatient, outpatient charges from physicians via Epic Charge Review related to multiple service lines. Accurately abstract CPT, HCPCS, ICD10, and Modifiers as appropriate per clinical documentation. Queries and provides feedback to providers and other clinical department personnel. Performs other related functions as required and as asked.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).

  • Three (3) years of relevant coding experience, including expertise in burn/trauma coding, critical care, E/M levels, and other procedural coding such as fractures, wound debridement, catheter insertions, etc.

  • Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10, & HCPC coding applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • RHIA and/or RHIT.

  • A Bachelor's Degree.

  • EPIC experience.

  • 3M experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $70,199 - $87,258 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $33.62 - $41.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
