Our Strengths
CRC awards Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, Associate degrees for Transfer, Career Education certificates, and transfer credit for students who intend to continue their education at a four-year college or university. Our 200+ programs include automotive technology, radio, television and film, allied health, veterinary technology, and architecture and design technology, among others.

With a focus on improving completion outcomes for all students, programs like the Puente Project, Umoja DIOP Scholars, and Native American Higher Ed Resources, look to increase the number of Latinx, African-American, and Native American students who complete a degree, certificate and/or transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Student support services and programs including CARE, EOPS, Enriched Scholars, and First-Year Experience enhance the ability of all students to complete college. Under the direct supervision of the Pool Director, this position patrols the pool area to enforce safety rules.

Position requires employee to possess and maintain valid certificate(s) as noted.

Temporary employees earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours.

Overseeing activities at an aquatic facility. Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of patrons. Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger. Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations. Maintaining order in swimming areas. Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning. Performing first aid procedures. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas. Maintaining records and reports.

Performs other duties as required.

3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday

NOTE: Short-term temporary employees shall not be employed for more than 135 days, or 960 hours, whichever is reached first, in any fiscal year.

Experience/Education:
Current CPR/AED for Lifeguards training (accepted cards: CPR/AED for lifeguards; OR, CPR for the Professional Rescuer; OR, ProCPR with AED; or equivalent card); AND Current First Aid Training for Lifeguards (Examples of accepted cards: Lifeguarding/First Aid; OR, Lifeguarding Training and First Aid; OR, Title 22 – First Aid for Public Safety Personnel AND Lifeguarding; OR, EMT AND Lifeguarding; or equivalent card.

Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement: 30 semester units are equal to one year of education.)

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful clearance from a criminal background check and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States prior to the first day of work. Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment and Certificate of Completion must be obtained within 15 days from the start of employment.
