We seek someone to help us perform accounts payable processing activities in accordance with internal practices and government regulations. If you are a candidate with a strong focus on partnering and continuous process improvement, who is detailed and demonstrates excellent organizational, prioritization and interpersonal skills, then this is the role for you.

 

As an Accounts Payable Processor...

  • Your primary responsibility will be to use Oracle applications to process and review invoices and employee reimbursements. Your attention to detail is crucial to ensuring completeness and accuracy, compliance with internal policy and regulatory protocols, and delivery of high-quality service in a timely manner.
  • You will prepare and process payment runs and bank transactions to ensure timely recording and reconciliation of payments for the goods and services needed to support our business.
  • Using your strong interpersonal and communication skills, we expect you to work with team members across the enterprise and external organizations to investigate, analyze, and resolve outstanding invoicing, reimbursement, and payment issues. Cultivating productive relationships and information sharing is essential to the successful execution of APL’s mission.
  • Your solution-oriented approach will be instrumental in offering ideas to improve the overall accounts payable practices.
  • You will perform other accounts payable duties as assigned, including supporting Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audit requests.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent and have 3 or more years of experience handling business expense reconciliations and invoice activities
  • Exhibit outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Have the ability to collaboratively perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Are excellent at multitasking, extracting data needs, prioritizing assignments, communicating progress, and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with all levels of staff and vendors
  • Have a strong desire to learn and can easily adapt to changing environments
  • Show a proficiency in working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have an Associate’s degree in Accounting or relevant field
  • Have 5 or more years of experience in handling business expense reconciliations and invoice activities
  • Have strong experience receiving, reviewing, approving and paying suppliers or vendors
  • Have experience auditing and/or processing travel reimbursements for government contracts
  • Have general knowledge of IRS guidelines related to AP expense and invoice payments Have Experience with the Oracle ERP Accounts Payable and Internet Expense modules and/or other APL computer systems
  • Have experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) or Government contracting environment
