Your next role as a Miracle Maker

Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Purchasing team as a Buyer I. As a Buyer I you will provide procurement support for various project requirements delegated by the Associate Director of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing. The Buyer I will collaborate closely with the Procurement team for additional guidance and direction. This role is responsible for placing orders for materials and services for Manufacturing and/or Operations, ensuring prompt and timely delivery at competitive prices, and handling communications with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

How you will make an impact:

  1. Purchase Order Management:
  • Process and manage the purchase order queue.
  • Buyer I will manage and buy set of assigned materials in NetSuite for ROP order triggers.
  • Manage all purchasing in box correspondence and collaborate with the buyers as necessary.
  • Generate and process purchase orders promptly to support all business requirements through various request methods, including NetSuite, zero picks, reorder points, emails, and verbal requests.
  • Expedite, follow up, and communicate estimated delivery dates for open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and appropriate production scheduling.
  • Manage and facilitate the closure of all open purchase orders pending approvals.
  • PO Back-order monitoring to ensure on-time delivery or estimated date delivery (EDD) updates as needed.
  1. Supplier Relations:
  • Review purchase order requisitions and request quotes for catalog materials as needed.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal teams and suppliers through professional communication by providing adequate and timely updates to all end-users.
  • Contribute to cost-saving corporate initiatives through bidding, supplier consolidation, and material standardization activities.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work with the Procurement team to manage long-term production schedules to ensure material readiness.
  • Support the Procurement department in addressing material orders and/or resolving material shortages for all departments.
  • Communicate material escalations and process issues and present streamlining and process solutions.
  • Interact with the Receiving Department and suppliers to resolve receiving discrepancies and arrange returns.
  1. Financial and Administrative Duties:
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve all invoice discrepancies.
  • Procure inventory purchases from approved suppliers.
  • Gather details to assist with root cause analysis for all material shortages.
  1. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

The skills and experience that you will bring:

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology/life science industry.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is required; NetSuite expertise is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Expertise in effective negotiation and supplier management.
  • Working knowledge of accounting practices.
  • Reliable and consistently completing assigned work while working successfully individually and within a team environment.
  • Personable, good listener, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $66,560 - $70,000. In addition, highly competitive long-term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
