Summary Statement

The Executive Director oversees programs and projects of THE FUND for West Palm Beach Police (hereafter referenced as “THE FUND”). The Executive Director reports to THE FUND President and to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director helps to maintain a positive image with the police force and the public; assists with fundraising and memberships drives; helps to implement programs; and serves as a conduit for informing staff, board, volunteers, and donors about the organization.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Works with President, board, and staff to ensure that THE FUND’s mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
  • Reports to and works closely with the President and Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
  • Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of THE FUND, to include working with the Treasurer to submit to the Board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Responsible for implementation of THE FUND’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission in partnership with the West Palm Beach Police
  • Responsible for the enhancement of THE FUND’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations. Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance THE FUND’s Mission.
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of competent, qualified staff and volunteers.
  • Assists with planning and execution of various fundraising and community events
  • Communicates and coordinates activities with vendors and support partners
  • Responsible for effective administration of THE FUND’s daily operations.
  • Oversees marketing and other communications efforts.
  • Participates in organization Board and committee meetings.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for supporting police department.
  • A commitment to and an understanding of THE FUND’s mission. Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to all concerned.
  • Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, especially with FUND members, staff, volunteers, donors, and directors.
  • High level strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making skills. Ability to help envision and convey the organization’s strategic goals to the FUND members, staff, volunteers, donors, and directors.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
  • Tech savvy. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to update and effectively utilize WordPress (or comparable) and Donor Management system
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
  • Minimum of 5 years nonprofit leadership experience
  • Hybrid optional (after full onboarding)

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $93,373.00 - $102,885.00 per year
