The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a **Government Grant Operations Analyst** in our **National Center** office. Location of the selected candidate is flexible provided the location allows for effective and cost-efficient travel.
In this role, you will provide coordination and support of multiple federal or state government grant budgets including accounts, invoicing and reporting. Additional responsibilities include preparing and reconciling travel and expense accounts as well as coordinating grant resources, calendars, and project administration as assigned (team communications, team training and related operational functions.
***This is a full time, benefits eligible grant funded position. Current funding is through approx. 9/2023.***
**Essential Job Duties: **
+ Coordinate budget development process for assigned state and federal grants. Analyze prior year budgets to provide guidance and comparative data for projections. Reconcile monthly budget reports to provide explanations of variance(s) to the Finance Department. Understand budget and revenue goals and activities for each meeting or program.
+ Communicates and educates grant staff on the association’s government grant policies and procedures and operations software such as SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics, E1 Finance system, or other regularly accessed systems and applications. Serve as E1 mentor for the grant teams
+ Prepares, coordinates, and distributes team calendar of all events, deadlines, and timelines. Collaborate with other departments to meet departmental and organizational goals.
+ Implements purchasing process including creation of purchase orders, vendor communication and management and invoice processing. Ensures that the above are handled in compliance with grantor guidelines.
+ Facilitates vendor contract management process to ensure contracts are reviewed and approved through internal Procurement and Legal procedures and are in compliance with grantor and government rules for grant funded projects.
+ Prepares and distributes internal communications and reports as needed to ensure department and project activities are prioritized and completed. Facilitate communications with project stakeholders including national leadership, region field staff, and government grant staff operations or program? managers.
+ Other duties, projects, or analyses as assigned including participation of cross functional task forces.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related area.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience:
+ Budget development and analysis.
+ Developing project scope and budget.
+ With meeting planning, contractual obligations, customer service.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
+ Proficient with financial applications or automated accounting systems.
+ Proficient with assigned functional applications or systems including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and/or shared document repositories (intranet operations) such as SharePoint.
+ Ability to communicate in writing and orally with correct grammar and spelling.
**Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for: **
+ Minimum of one (1) year of experience in post-award administration of Federal Government Grants.

**Compensation & Benefits**
Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply.
**Benefit Plans: **
Employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the medical, dental, and vision plans the first of the month following 30 days of service. AHA subsidizes the medical and dental cost to ensure benefits are affordable. Eligible dependents under AHA’s group benefit plans include legal spouse, domestic partner, children under the age of 26 or who are disabled. AHA offers additional benefits like an EAP, telehealth benefit for general medical and behavioral health, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and disability.
Retirement Plans: AHA retirement plans offer employees a way to start saving after their first paycheck. The retirement plans provides employer contributions after two years of service. If you have previous 501(c)(3) non-profit experience, within the last 5 years, at a national health agency, an institution of higher learning or a medical institution, that experience may count towards the two-year waiting period. Employees are 100% vested in employee and employer contributions.
Paid Days Off: Regular full-time and part-time employees earn Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service. PTO begins accruing on date of hire. Full time employees receive one paid Community Service time off day per year and are encouraged to participate in projects, programs and organizations which contribute to the health and vitality of their communities. AHA also offers 12 paid holidays per year.
Leaves of Absence: AHA offers both Short Term and Long Term Disability benefits which replace earnings if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Employees are eligible for Short Term Disability after 90 days of service and are eligible for Long Term Disability after being disabled for 90 days or more. Eligible employees can take up to 12 weeks off of work for a qualified leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), intermittent FMLA leaves and leave as an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA.
