JOB TITLE: Certified Counselor
REPORTS TO: Clinical Director
Full Time Positions available must be willing to work one weekend shift

Gavin Foundation is a non-profit multi-service agency providing comprehensive, community- based substance abuse education, prevention, treatment and recovery support services throughout Greater Boston. Our vast array of services include: outpatient, school based services, criminal justice, reentry programs, adolescent recovery homes, adult recovery homes and a recovery support center.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Work with a team in our ATS/CSS comprised of medical professionals, clinicians and case managers to provide support, counseling and community referrals to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. This will include facilitating individual and group counseling sessions and providing aftercare case management planning services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct bio-psychosocial assessment
* Complete intake paperwork familiarity with MA DPH EIM/ESM preferred
* Facilitating psycho-education groups
* Use of MI based counseling
* Knowledge of the 12 Steps of Recovery
* Formulate treatment plan and provide timely documentation
* Attend weekly treatment team supervision & biweekly individual supervision
* Provide crisis intervention when necessary
REQUIREMENTS
* Masters, Bachelor's, CADC, LADC I or II
* Knowledge of the ASAM criteria
* Experience with utilization review for insurance payment
* Must have effective speaking and writing skills
* Three years in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse
- Familiarity with Clinic Management Software a Plus
- Basic Computer Skills (MS Office) & the Desire/Ability to Learn New Software
