Structured Literacy CoachThe Stern Center for Language and Learning is seeking a Structured Literacy Coach to provide on-site coaching to K-6 classroom educators in the application of structured literacy concepts. This position is charged with elevating educator knowledge using the Stern Center for Language and Learnings (SCLL's) innovative Lead to Read program to bring the science of reading to the classroom. If you are an experienced educator highly skilled in the area of multi-sensory structured language, literacy, decoding, fluency, and comprehension, we encourage you to apply. Qualified applicants will have certification in Orton-Gillingham or Wilson Reading System.

  • Provides on-site lesson observations and feedback for K-6 grade educators in order to elevate general education knowledge, improve literacy equity and outcomes, and reduce special education referrals
  • Develops and delivers content presentations to large groups of educators on-site in schools
  • Applies broad knowledge of structured literacy programs to guide educators in science-based teaching strategies with a focus on phonological awareness, reading, and spelling
  • Coaches educators in language structure, multisensory and diagnostic instructional techniques, assessment, and the use of diagnostic data to differentiate instruction and shape practice
  • Supports educations in practical application of structured language concepts and teaching strategies
  • Plays a key role in planning and evaluation of SCLLs Lead to Read program
  • Collaborates with Director of OG Institute and Professional Learning Director to ensure seamless coordination of all Stern Center professional learning
