This position is in the Department of Ob/Gyn.  This position is for the Medical School Campus.

Essential Functions

A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Rama Kommagani’s lab at Washington University School of Medicine.

The candidate will join a dynamic team to focus on gut microbiome and immune dysfunction in gynecological diseases. We recently revealed a potential role for gut microbiota in endometriosis (Human Reproduction , dez041, https://doi.org/10.1093/humrep/dez041 ).

The project will utilize established cell culture and mouse models in conjunction with functional genomics and metabolomics to underscore the role of gut microbiota in endometriosis. Candidate will also participate in translational efforts through our clinical collaborators within WUSM.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D. or an equivalent terminal or doctoral degree. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates that are one to two years past their doctoral degree are strongly preferred.
  • Clear interest in microbiome and inflammation research are strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in cell and molecular biology.
  • Experience with handling and using rodent models.

Salary Range

Base pay commensurate with experience.
