Who We Seek

We seek an enthusiastic, self-starter that has passion for RPA’s mission and values, and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is an experienced, reliable professional capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, experienced in identifying and managing priorities in a fast-paced client service environment with tact and diplomacy. This person must be curious, committed to exceptional client service, command a strong attention to detail, and enjoy problem solving. The qualified candidate should demonstrate commitment to RPA’s values of integrity, diversity, quality and trust.


The Program Coordinator serves as a key contact for assigned client relationships and coordinates/supports advisory services activities including grantmaking, donor briefings and special events or programs, and other philanthropic activities as assigned. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of projects to ensure timeliness and efficiency of services and client satisfaction
  • Working with senior staff, serve as a co-program officer for assigned institutional clients’ grantmaking portfolios
  • Participate in the evaluation, preparation and submission of proposals/recommendations for clients and new engagements
  • Conduct site visits as assigned
  • Participate in the preparing and delivery of donor briefings and special events
  • Coordinate and/or prepare presentations, reports, and dockets for assigned clients
  • Coordinate or perform due diligence and grants processing for assigned clients
  • Coordinate maintenance of records, proposals, contracts, and deliverables of assigned engagements
  • Inform and monitor monthly budget and activities and financial reports for assigned engagements
  • Support business development activities as appropriate and assigned
  • Represent RPA or its clients as needed in professional settings, as assigned
  • Participate and support RPA-wide initiatives that further RPA’s mission
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

Desired Qualifications

Education: B.S./B.A. and graduate work or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3 years professional experience in the philanthropic field with increasing responsibility and proven effectiveness in working with grantmakers, grantseekers, and nonprofit organizations. Experience with personal, family and corporate philanthropy preferred. Consulting experience a plus.

Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and balance the workload of multiple projects and clients
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills; good judgment and ability to function independently
  • Ability to handle a large and diverse client portfolio
  • Comfortable engaging with client and staff at all levels
  • Financial management acumen
  • Familiarity with nonprofit sector, including grantmaking organizations
  • Working knowledge of Office Suite
  • Familiarity with NetSuite/CRM (Helpful)
