Austin Peay State University’s College of Business, in pursuit of AACSB accreditation, invites applications for a one year instructor of Finance position for the 2021-22 academic year. The successful applicant will primarily teach courses in real estate, banking, and occasionally, personal finance and/or principles of finance. The expected course load is 12 credit hours per academic semester.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

Possess the knowledge, talents, and skills in finance and in multiple teaching methodologies including conventional, hybrid, flipped, and blended courses. 
Demonstrate respect for the diverse learning needs of students.
 Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement curriculum objectives and content for the finance courses taught.
 Demand and maintain high standards and expectations for all students.
 Develop and implement evaluation and assessment techniques that are appropriate for each course.
 Use multiple measures to assess student learning on a regular basis and provide frequent feedback to students relative to their performance.
 Be available and knowledgeable and demonstrate proficiency in the practice of academic and career advisement of students.
 Be qualified under College of Business policy and consistent with AACSB standards.

Essential Functions 

Participate in the College of Business Finance program by directing students’ educational experiences through internships in professional settings.
 Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development and growth by being suitably active in professional and community service.
 Exhibit motivation and initiative in maintaining currency in the field of finance by reading and reviewing current scholarly or professional works and by attending conferences, seminars, workshops, courses, and other continuing professional educational activities.
 Serve effectively on departmental, college, and university committees and other appropriate functions that assist in University governance.

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications 

Minimum of an earned master’s degree in finance (with at least 18 graduate hours in finance) or related field with CFA or CFP designation, and significant experience in financial services at a corporate or educational institution to allow classification as instructional practitioner according to AACSB accreditation standards. The financial leadership/teaching experience should include duties and activities related to financial services. 
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the requirements of AACSB accreditation.
 A background check will be required of the successful candidate.
