This position is in the Department of Radiation Oncology. This position is for the Medical School Campus.



Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Biologic Therapeutics Center at the Washington University School of Medicine has an opening for a post-doctoral research associate. The laboratory projects will involve studies of the molecular virology of adenovirus for gene therapy and gene editing via CRISPR/Cas9. The main focus will be viral engineering to accomplish B cell transduction. This position is linked to the NIH’s new Somatic Cell Genome Editing (SCGE) Common Fund and will benefit from all facets of participating with this cutting-edge NIH-directed scientific groups.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively pursue research under the supervision of the PI while developing skills for independent research.
  • Critically analyze and summarize scientific literature.
  • Prepare and present results of research in internal seminars and external conferences and journals.
  • Assist with grant preparation and reporting.


  • Required Qualifications

     Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in microbiology, virology, molecular biology or a related field. 



    Preferred Qualifications

    Extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, as well as knowledge of the biology of viruses.



    Salary Range

    Base pay commensurate with experience.
