This position is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating data related to all areas of the institution to inform decision-making. A focus of this position (25-40%) is financial analysis for international programs, including financial planning and analysis, pro forma development, and developing long-term financial models. This position is also responsible for responding to internal and external data requests that span the institution, assisting with the maintenance of the college’s data warehouse and dashboard, updating annual data reports, and conducting statistical analysis.

List of Essential Activities

1. Develops longer-term financial models, plans and goals with a focus on revenue generation, and takes lead responsibility for developing the annual budget for international programs.
2. Develops procedures regarding international tuition remission and other financial student account issues.
3. Analyzes the financial performance of programs and recommends changes to the Executive VP of Finance and Administration.
4. Assists in assessing and defining fiscal data needed for tracking the performance of key functions and programs and for satisfying auditing and reporting requirements.
5. Serves as a financial advisor for international programs to the Executive VP of Finance and Administration.
6. Extracts and synthesizes data from multiple sources including the College’s Student Information System.
7. Prepares data for analysis including cleaning, interpreting, and transforming data
8. Conducts both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
9. Communicates data and research findings both written and orally to a wide variety of audiences.
10. Assists with the design and implementation of research studies to support institutional decision-making.
11. Assists with the development of dashboards for college units.
12. Related project and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as statistics, mathematics, finance, accounting, educational research, or computer science.
2. Three years’ experience with research and data analysis, preferably in a higher education setting of which at least two years of experience involved working with financial analysis and modeling and experience with experience with Student Information Systems (SIS)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
3. Outstanding organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple projects and perform efficiently and courteously in a fast-paced environment with a fluctuating workload, conflicting and competing priorities, and frequent distractions and interruptions.
4. Ability to communicate complex data into easily understood information.
5. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite specifically using Access and Excel to create highly complex reports.
6. Demonstrated ability with statistical software packages such as SPSS.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in a related field.
2. Two years’ experience with Ellucian Colleague.
3. Three years’ experience in higher education related to Institutional Research or Institutional Effectiveness.
4. Programming capabilities in SQL.
