Summary Description

An Associate Research Scientist position is available in the Danino laboratory at Columbia University.

The purpose of this job is to perform research on bacteria therapies for cancer and contribute to the research and environment of the Danino lab through collaboration with the PI, lab members, and collaborating labs. The position is also responsible for maintenance of laboratory cell cultures. The incumbent will need to fill liquid nitrogen tanks every 1-2 weeks in person.

The laboratory’s research broadly includes synthetic biology, quantitative biology, and cancer. Two primary areas of interest are in engineering of dynamic gene circuits and microbial diagnostics/therapeutics for cancer and other diseases. Minimum Degree Required

Candidates must have a PhD in biomedical sciences and engineering to apply

Minimum Qualifications

Experience working with bacteria and molecular cloning. General molecular biology techniques.
