Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is searching for Nursing professionals who are passionate about teaching the next generation of nurses the knowledge and skills it takes to be a great nurse. This is part time and range between 6-12 hours per week. Typical adjuncts will work 1 or 2 days in the clinical setting (Mon-Thurs) and hours would be between 7am-3pm. This is an in person position in a local clinical site or on campus.
Adjuncts make $46.50 per contact hour (time in front of students). Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
  • Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
  • Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
 
This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
 
A nursing faculty meets the credentialing standards by meeting each of the following:
1. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse and,
2. Possesses a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license, and
3. Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred. If holds a Bachelor's Degree must be enrolled in Master's Degree in Nursing program
 
The employee will be responsible for providing the required documentation of immunity to communicable/infectious diseases as required by our clinical agencies to the School of Nursing. Any exemptions to proof of immunity requirements must be approved by Ivy Tech Community College and clinical agencies. In addition, documentation of current CPR certification, BLS Provider (American Heart Association) or Health Care provider level (American Red Cross) shall be presented at the time of hire. Employees who are missing any of the requirements stated will be responsible for the cost of obtaining such documentation.
