Clemson University's College of Education invites applicants for an Early Childhood and Elementary Placement Coordinator position. The primary responsibilities of this position are to oversee all field placements for the Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education programs. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB DUTIES:

60% - Essential - Placements:
Oversees all aspects of candidates' field placements in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, including securing placements; liaising with faculty, school partners, and students. Organizes, and leads trainings and meetings with district partners, students, teachers, and supervisors; regularly visiting school district partners and school sites (teachers, students). Administers practicum and student teaching applications. Works closely with faculty and academic advisors. Maintains currency of the student teaching website and Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education field placement assignments.

20% - Essential - Data management:
Oversees all aspects of data management related to candidates' field placements in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, including ensuring students have submitted required field placement paperwork, processing recertification letters and stipends for teachers. Assists with data collection for recertification purposes, maintaining current and accurate field placement data bases, and assisting in preparing data for reporting purposes.

20% - Essential - Supervision:
Supervises the equivalent of one course of students each semester.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education; Master’s Degree required.

Work Exp 3+ years teaching PK-5th grade students; Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education licensure.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree plus 18 graduate hours in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education; PhD in related field; Previous work experience supervising preservice teachers Previous experience working in higher education.

Acts as Lead - Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

5% - Stand for prolonged period
5% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
5% - Walk or move about
85% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself
