The Global Training Initiative (GTI) at North Carolina State University enhances international partnerships and global competency among NC State students and faculty, businesses in North Carolina, and people around the world through a variety of short-term academic programs and training opportunities. The GTI partners with NC State units, North Carolina businesses, federal and state agencies, and overseas partners on academic and internship opportunities, international grants and short-term professional training programs.
Hours vary as needed.

Generally 8-5 M-F; but many evening and weekend hours are possible.Other Work/Responsibilities
This position will assist with a variety of activities including but not limited to:
- Plan, schedule, and participate in cultural activities, field trips, site visits, social events, and recreation opportunities
- Help with airport pickups and orientations or various student and professional groups
- Recruitment of campus and community volunteers
- Transport student and professional groups when needed
- Helping develop and deliver cross-cultural and ESL curriculum, workshops, and/or content for GTI courses on American culture and higher education
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree
Department Required Skills
- Excellent rapport with and interest in international students and other cultures
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to thrive in a flexible, hard-working, and fast-paced environment
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
- Foreign language and/or overseas life/work experience preferred
- Ability to drive 15 passenger vans or larger vehicles
- Experience with event management, delivering training programs, volunteer recruitment, catering and hospitality
- Experience with the setup, management, and delivery of online and virtual programs
- Familiarity with NC State University and the Raleigh area (or willing to learn)
Required License or Certification
NC Driver’s License required; or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
