Professor of Vilnius University is a leader in his/her field of research and studies in Lithuania, it is the highest academic position at the university. The professor’s responsibilities include scientific research and dissemination of its results, research-based studies, contributing to the education of young researchers and other academics, providing expert recommendations, educating the society at large, promoting and disseminating achievements of scientific research and (or) culture.
Duties and responsibilities:
The professor is expected to be able to do scientific research of international and high national level individually or in a team with other researchers in the field of collective labor law, labor law and civil service, to publish the results of his/her research in prestigious national and international social science (law) periodicals journals and other publications. The professor will submit proposals for research projects ensuring the availability of necessary resources for the purpose and will implement them. He/she will convene teams of researchers and lead them. The professor will teach collective labor law (legal regulation of social partnership), labor law, civil service subjects at all study levels within the framework of the study programmes, which are provided by Faculty of Law in/or Lithuanian and other languages (e.g., English, Russian languages), will develop educational materials for studies. He/she is expected to be able to supervise research projects and theses of students at all study levels, also doctoral dissertations and post-doctoral projects when necessary. As an expert in his/her field, the professor will provide insights and recommendations to the society. He/she will maintain professional relations with his colleagues abroad and will take an active part in national and international associations in his/her field. The professor will promote the speciality of a lawyer and labor law and studies in law. He/she will implement other functions assigned to a professor related to studies, study materials development, research, improvement of qualifications, and management, as stipulated in legal acts of Vilnius University.
PhD or equivalent in social science (law).
Ability to teach in/or Lithuanian, English and Russian languages.
At least 5 years of teaching experience in collective labor law, labor law and civil service at universities.

When the candidates are of equal standing, priority is given to:
Experience in leading research groups (centers, institutes);
Experience of participating in working groups for drafting national law;
Expert work experience at national and international levels;
Leading student research;
Experience in practical legal work (primarily in the fields of labor law and (or) civil service).

Starting at: 1 September 2021, duration of contract: 5 years.
Full time employment: 0.5.
Monthly salary: EUR 1150 (before tax).
