Other Conditions: Applications for lecturer pool to be used to hire for Summer & Fall 2019 and Spring & Summer 2020. Part-time; non-tenure positions to teach ACC 202 - Introduction to Managerial Accounting (only for Summer of 2019), ACC 200 - Introductory Accounting I, ACC 201, Introductory Accounting II, ACC 321 – Intermediate Accounting I, ACC 407 - Corporate Taxation, ACC 409 - Accounting Information Systems, ACC 413 - Law for Accountants, and ACC 418 - Auditing for the School of Accountancy for Fall 2019, Spring 2020 and Summer of 2020. Appointments are contingent upon position availability, course offerings, sufficient enrollment and availability of funds. Must be available on short notice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate accounting course(s).
  • Responsible for conducting all scheduled classes, meeting course requirements as established by the Shidler College of Business, course preparation, grading, maintaining weekly office hours and being accessible to students.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A Master of Accounting; Master of Business Administration (with concentration in accounting); Master of Law or Juris Doctorate; PhD student with accounting concentration; or equivalent.
  • For ACC 200, 201, 202 & 321 – the candidate must also have recent professional work experience that provides the knowledge to teach the accounting course.
  • For ACC 407– candidates must also have recent professional work experience that provides the knowledge to teach the tax accounting course.
  • For ACC 409 - candidates must also have recent professional work experience that provides the knowledge to teach the accounting information systems and related databases course.
  • For ACC 413 - the candidate must also have recent consulting or professional work experience relating to contracts, sales, commercial paper, secured transactions, property, legal entities, agency, and/or securities.
  • For ACC 418 – candidates must also have auditing experience at a partner level in a national and/or larger accounting firm and/or recent professional work experience that provides the knowledge to teach the accounting course.

Desirable Qualifications
  • PhD in Accounting.
  • Recent professional work experience, relevant to the course, at a partner level in a national and/or significant accounting experience in a larger accounting firm.
