Community Engagement Manager
The Jackson Hole Western Wyoming Community Engagement Manager will lead the Alzheimer’s Association’s programs, development, and volunteer engagement strategies that strengthen our capacity to reach and serve more people in Wyoming.
Programs: Develop and implement the Alzheimer’s Association’s program delivery and growth strategy to reach more people with volunteer-delivered programs, especially in new, underrepresented, and rural/frontier communities. Identify, recruit, engage and grow volunteers and community partners while meeting Association best practices to achieve growth goals and benchmarks.
Development: Utilize proven networking and relationship building skills to cultivate key community connections, drive success and achieve revenue goals by strategically identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders and building and empowering sustainable volunteer committees that support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and The Longest Day.
This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create urgency for our cause by promoting a full-mission value proposition to support Alzheimer’s Association campaigns such as quality care, fundraising and advocacy efforts throughout designated communities in the Jackson Hole Western Wyoming Region
- Model and foster behaviors that contribute to a culture that values the staff/volunteer/ community partnership and is consistent with the Association’s goals, best practices, and core values.
PROGRAM DUTIES: 60%
- Conduct outreach and ongoing community assessments through Community Forums to build Community Action Networks to ensure that volunteer-led programs are aligned with community needs and offered where demand is high.
- Coordinate the Jackson Hole Alzheimer’s and Dementia Initiative (JHADI).
- Recruit, train and lead volunteers to deliver and grow programs in the region.
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of high-impact community partners to grow the Association’s program reach in Jackson Hole and Western Wyoming.
- Expand collaborative agreements with current partners in community networks, organizations, service providers, nonprofits, and faith institutions, and establish new community partnerships beyond traditional partners to reach underrepresented communities.
- Represent the Alzheimer’s Association at meetings and events as assigned.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program, community impact and volunteer performance data as well as grant-funded projects (where applicable).
DEVELOPMENT DUTIES: 40%
- Manage multiple peer-to-peer fundraising events annually to generate excitement and enthusiasm in the community for Walk to End Alzheimer’s, The Longest Day, and other local events. Coach and inspire your volunteers to implement and build on proven strategies and best practices that result in event growth year over year.
- Serve as the Functional Lead for the Wyoming Chapter TLD and Walk campaigns. Will attend National and Regional virtual TLD and Walk meetings and disseminate information to staff partners.
- Responsible for engaging with volunteers and community partners in the Jackson Hole Western Wyoming Region.
- Develop and expand the Jackson Hole TLD Peaks, Trails, & Rivers campaign, the Walk with the Doc event, and other TLD activities in the region.
- Coordinate a minimum of two volunteer-driven Walks to End Alzheimer’s in the Jackson Hole Western Wyoming Region.
- Coordinate the Alzheimer’s Association’s Wyoming Chapter participation in Old Bills Fun Run.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of proven experience recruiting and mobilizing volunteers and community leaders to achieve goals, preferably in a peer-to-peer environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated management skills, including the ability to set clear goals, organize projects, establish, manage budgets, and establish accountability processes.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for identifying, recruiting, and engaging high-level and C-Suite volunteer leadership.

- Strong ability to build sustainable corporate and community relationships that contribute to achieving organizational and revenue goals.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and build an inclusive environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% within the assigned territory by car. Travel in this case is considered time spent away from the office, in the community, to fulfil the job goals.
- While some travel is on the same day, overnight travel or air travel may be required. Must have valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the job.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials.
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn the Alzheimer’s Association content management systems (e.g. Personify, Luminate/Convio)
