Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Supervisor to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all instrumentation and control devices and systems within our Utilities Department. The ideal candidate will oversee and assist with a range of tasks including expansion, maintenance, calibration, repairs, testing, and commissioning of I&C equipment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, supervise, and assist in the performance of expansion, maintenance, calibration, repairs, testing, and commissioning of I&C devices and systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design, install, and commission new I&C systems and components.
- Develop software and programming for new and modified control systems, either independently or with the support of third-party vendors.
- Document, manage, and maintain an inventory of I&C parts and equipment for repairs and replacements.
- Conduct compliance audits and calibrations to ensure accuracy of records and reports.
- Research, propose, recommend, and implement new I&C systems, improvements, repairs, or modifications to existing systems.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly, coordinating I&C staff and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Continuously seek to improve operational performance, capability, and cybersecurity posture of I&C systems.
- Provide technical assistance regarding control software and hardware selection, lifecycle management, system interoperability, and design feasibility during upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
7 or more years of experience
Engineering focused degree (Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial) or a related degree with strong controls experience
Understanding of the theory and operation of steam boilers, turbine generators, electric generators and all such related Power Plant equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of the theory and operation of steam boilers, turbine generators, electric generators and all such related Power Plant equipment. Experience with Distributed Control System (preferably Delta V), process controls, network communications and instrumentation operation, calibration and troubleshooting.
Licenses for CFC preferred, training and competency for Emerson Delta V DCS platform, willing and able to acquire other advanced certifications as required by future regulations and/or departmental needs.
