Job Description Summary

Do you have a passion for higher education? LLCC is searching for a new Recruitment Specialist who will recruit new students to the college through visits to high schools, businesses and organizations. They will also develop and implement events, tours and programs.

As a staff member at LLCC, you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and starting with 15 vacation days per year. LLCC staff, their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses. LLCC is a positive, team-oriented environment supportive of staff development. Starting salary is likely to be between $48,854 and $56,289 per year with an excellent benefits package. The person hired into this position will be placed within this range based on education, training, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license
  • High energy, customer service oriented, and able to work with diverse prospective student populations
  • Enthusiasm for community colleges and LLCC in particular
  • Professional demeanor along with strong communication, presentation and public speaking abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in small and large group settings, as well as one-to-one with students, parents/guardians, visitors, faculty and other employees of the college
  • Ability to develop a high level of knowledge regarding LLCC academic and career/technical programs and college services
  • Ability to use state-of-the-art recruitment and text software
  • An outgoing team player who enjoys working with people and represents the college in an excellent manner

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, sales/marketing or related field
  • A graduate of LLCC or a community college

Position Salary

Starting salary is likely to be between $48,854 and $56,289 per year with an excellent benefits package.

As a member of the Recruitment & Admissions team, make scheduled recruitment visits to assigned district high schools, communicating with prospective students, guidance counselors, teachers and principals, along with visits to district/local businesses, governmental offices, organizations and groups.
