This multifaceted position within Notre Dame Athletics is responsible for leading the public-facing media group for the department, Fighting Irish Media. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight of athletics communications, video boards and live broadcast production, long-form video, team video content, creative design, content distribution, media partnerships, social media, student-athlete branding, media operations and “Brand” for the Athletic Department. A successful individual in this role is above all else a great steward of teamwork, culture and relationships.
Expected to develop and implement the Athletics brand standards to ensure both consistency and effectiveness in conveying the core messages, while finding new opportunities for Notre Dame to reach potential new fanbases via collaborations. Desired outcomes include optimizing the content creation and distribution workflow, both internally and through the establishment of partnerships with Notre Dame Global Partnerships, resulting in innovative processes for content planning, production, consumption and engagement. This position is held accountable for growing Notre Dame’s brand across digital and linear distribution platforms and increasing revenue.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for the Athletic Department’s relationship with media partners including but not limited to NBC, ESPN, the ACC Network and ND Studios.

Essential Duties:
- Managing and growing relationships with key media partners (see above), current and prospective distribution partners and campus partners (OPAC, UEE). Includes taking the lead in creating strategic partnerships with outside media entities.
- Develop and implement athletic brand standards and tools for brand decision-making.
- Provide direction to and management of all media staff. Oversee Fighting Irish Media staff through reporting relationships over communications staff, video/broadcast, technical, distribution and graphics/brand. Design, monitor and improve operational workflow to efficiently produce, distribute and manage rights to meaningful content.
- Develop and implement a strategic media plan that enhances the Notre Dame athletic image and brand. Expand programming and content creation capabilities across print, video, photography,
- video, social media, etc. Increase distribution and fan consumption across broadcast, mobile, web, in-venue.
- Generate revenue through sponsorship, advertising, e-commerce, subscription & production.
- Manage the financial affairs of media production, ensuring costs remain within budget, providing appropriate reconciliations, forecasting short-term and long-term revenue and expense, working with Athletic staff on content monetization plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
- 7 or more years experience
- Experience creating and executing strategic plans.
- Experience managing staff, projects, production planning, budgeting and implementation while creating a great family-driven culture.
- Understanding of content production technologies and techniques related to television/radio/mobile/broadband/video board/print/others.
- Ability to effectively communicate to the team you are on and the team you lead. Proven ability to establish mutually beneficial internal and external relationships.
- Knowledge of NCAA/ACC rules and regulations.
- Experience in branding, original content production and multiplatform content distribution.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment while working in pressure situations to deliver multimedia content for highly visible athletics program.
