Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees.


The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Information and Communication Technology Cluster within the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, particularly for the courses and programs related to the Project Management at the North and IGS (International Graduate School - Toronto) campuses and to get involved and support activities that contribute Humber’s Centres of Innovation (COI). In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include curriculum development, lesson planning, assessing student progress and achievement, class management, contribution in program development, applied research, and other co-curricular activity involvement. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member.

In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the programs, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the programs, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.


The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in the areas of Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline and must be a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Knowledge in best practices of Project Management is absolutely required with a minimum of five years of industry experience as a Project Manager. The incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of PMBOK (®) and demonstrated appreciation of both the predictive and adaptive approaches to project management as well as industry trends and tools. The successful candidate must have polytechnic post-secondary teaching experience or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry.

The incumbent must possess significant experience working on industry projects in a collaborative/team-based environment, with demonstrated results. Experience in applied research projects, collaborating with industry or having an established program of applied research, would be an asset. Integration of industry-led projects into curriculum is an asset.

In addition, the successful candidate will possess well-developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability in curriculum development and delivery as well as the ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students and commitment to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment. A strong network of contacts and affiliation with other professionals, organizations/associations and industry are assets.
