Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Under direction, performs advanced Sterile Processing Technician duties. Responsible for all activities related to sterile processing instrument ordering, replenishment, and ensuring accurate instrument sets. In collaboration with OR clinical coordinators, orders new instrument trays and replenishes missing instruments from trays. Prepares instrument refurbishing schedules, maintains organized work area, and accounts for instrumentation released or received for refurbishing. Responsible for documenting and sending out damaged equipment forrepair, and updating IFU's for instruments.

Responsible for in servicing SPD staff to new instrument sets or updates to instrument set count sheets. Assesses instrument vendors as appropriate and works closely with OR & SPD teams and vendors to assure concise communication. Uses instrument tracking system to review missing instruments, creates and updates count sheets, and running reports for instrumentation. Coordinates instrument repair with all vendors, assess instrument trails, and evaluations with vendors. Performs other related duties asassigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four (4) years of experience performing SPD duties in an acute care facility.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
  • Sterile Processing Tech Certification (CRCST, CBSPD).
  • CIS Certification from HSPA.
  • Completion of SPD course.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CER or CHL Certification from HSPA.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $74,834 - $93,083 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $35.84 - $44.58

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
