Job Roles

  • Build positive relationships, inspire others to perform at a higher level, prepare career development plans and retain an accountable workforce.
  • Coach and counsel staff and administer appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
  • Provide/ensure staff receive all new hire and annual trainings on time.
  • Administer day-to-day operations of assigned clinics, and/or assigned programs to include scheduling and patient service management.
  • Establish operational objectives, and develop and implement plans for meeting tactical and strategic objectives as reviewed by senior management.
  • Oversee administration of integrated care activities at assigned clinics to include data collection and report generation. Track site productivity and utilization rates. Monitor on-going revenue and expenses. Collect and analyze data, prepare necessary reports, and develop improvement plans as necessary.
  • Provide direct patient services as appropriate within scope of licensure.
  • In collaboration with Mental Health Senior Management Team, actively participate in organizational short and long-term planning and implementation activities.
  • Oversee and directly participate in project planning, implementation, and assessment at assigned clinics.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, in a timely and thorough manner, in accordance with department standards. Ensure documentation complies with patients insurance requirements. In addition, monitor documentation of direct reports and assigned clinics to ensure maximum revenue realization.
  • Ensure applicable regulatory and department standards are met or exceeded on an ongoing basis (i.e., JCAHO, OSHA, Safety Standards, etc.).
  • Ensure assigned clinics and/or programs are managed in a fiscally responsible manner to include grants implementation and requirements as directed in collaboration with other FHCSD departments and clinics as applicable.
  • Ensure assigned site is well maintained and in compliance with FHCSD policies.
  • May accept warm handoffs from non-mental health clinics at the same location. Ensure work collaboratively with other managers in addressing and servicing difficult patients.
  • Ensure mental health staff are kept informed and adhere to policies and procedures that relate to the mental health clinic.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and ensure appropriate Lean tools (i.e., 5S, A3) are deployed and results are evaluated and/or measured.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Current California state clinical licensure as MFT, LCSW, or Clinical Psychologist.
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field required.
  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County, to locations that may have limited access to public transportation; proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No more than 2 violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 7 years.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • 3 years of experience in a social service/behavioral health field to include administrative experience required.
  • 2 - 3 years of progressively responsible experience in Clinical supervision preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in the provision and/or supervision of mental health services provided preferred.
  • Ability to provide support, structure, empathy, sound judgment, insight into human behavior and family relations.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal interactions with clients and co-workers as a member of a multi-disciplinary community health team with a diverse multi-cultural population.
  • Clinical skills appropriate to scope of practice and clinical judgment necessary to implement the treatment plan.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
  • Knowledge of current counseling theories and best practices with the ability to translate best practices into meaningful culturally appropriate resources.
  • Knowledge of budgets, fiscal planning, grant programs, and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques to include performance management and employee development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include ability to communicate effectively with patients and family members who speak English as a second language.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, time-management skills, and strong motivation to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to include analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources, health and social service systems in San Diego County with skill in establishing working relationships with community partners.
  • Intermediate skills in computer applications and software to include Microsoft Office applications.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

$103,000.00 - $123,000.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
