Ignite Digital Services (IDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Release Train Engineer (RTE). We are looking for a skilled Release Train Engineer (RTE) to facilitate the Agile Release Train (ART) processes and execution. The RTE will work closely with product management, development, and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of guiding teams through complex software release cycles. The ideal candidate will be technical minded with a strong background in managing agile projects in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect and Adapt workshops, and other relevant events.
- Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to prioritize and manage the ART backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
- Provide guidance and support to Agile teams, helping to remove impediments, resolve conflicts, and promote continuous improvement.
- Monitor and track the progress of the ART, identifying risks and dependencies, and taking proactive measures to mitigate potential issues.
- Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and innovation within the ART, promoting Agile principles and values.
- Serve as a liaison between the ART and other organizational units, facilitating communication and alignment across teams and departments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the ART, leveraging metrics and feedback to optimize performance and delivery efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies related to Agile software development and release management.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Engineering, Physical Science or Technologyrelated specialty.
- 5+ years of experience in assigned job duties as a Release Train Engineer, Agile Coach, or similar role
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or Scaled Agile Scrum Master (SSM) certification required; SAFe RTE certification preferred
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a demonstrated track record of successfully guiding teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on delivering high-quality products on schedule.
- Active Secret clearance
Preferred Requirements
- Experience using ServiceNow for Agile collaboration and project management
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Experience managing Agile Release Trains for Government/federal organizations
- Experience working with the Department of the Navy
Location: DC strongly preferred, possible remote
Travel to DC 1x quarter to 1 every other month
Work Schedule: East coast standard working hours (8a-4p; 9a-5p)
Salary: $120,000 + to align with education and experience
