Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the President, the Director of Enrollment and Retention Management integrates all aspects of ICC’s enrollment processes including the planning, implementation, and evaluating effective student-centered, strategic recruitment and retention initiatives. The Director of Enrollment and Retention Management is an innovative individual who should bring vision and promote a student centered/first model; have an understanding about issues and national trends that affect two-year institutions; and support a shared governance/decision making environment. The Director of Enrollment and Retention Management serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and shares responsibility for promoting a student-centered campus environment that supports the development of all students.

Position Information
12-month position with a salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 plus benefits.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or comparable work experience; five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in undergraduate admissions and/or enrollment management with a proven track record of success.
  • The successful candidate should possess evidence of management and supervisory experience and the ability to analyze multi-layered problems and propose solutions.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Should have experience with student information systems/databases.
  • Must be about to work evening and weekend work as needed.
  • Must support and maintain an educational philosophy in alignment with the college’s mission vision and core values.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop a Comprehensive Student Recruitment Campaign including analysis and evaluation of strategic and targeted recruitment needs with college and campus recruiter; long and short-term planning; and review of recruitment strategies and programs including resource management.
  • Supervises and supports the recruiting, admissions, and advising staff.
  • Ensures recruitment objectives, goals, budgets, policies, practices, and actions produce successful student recruitment results, consistent with ICC’s overall mission, and strategic and master plans.
  • In coordination with the Assessment Committee, develops and implements assessment strategies to rate, analyze and improve the performance of enrollment management related to services, initiatives and strategies.
  • Develops communication strategies for a variety of market segments that address prospective students, program and enrollment inquiries, application processes, and pre-enrollment phases of the college admissions process which includes faculty, staff, and students.
  • Develops and implements the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan which should include recruitment and retention goals for the college, the key stakeholders, enrollment data and trends, effective enrollment strategies and programs.
  • Designs and implements efficient and effective enrollment processes (recruitment, testing, admission, assessment, advising, registration, financial aid/payment, and orientation) by delivering services in a manner that reinforces efforts to recruit and retain students in collaboration with other departments, such as the Academic Success Center.
  • Collaborates with Student Affairs, and across campus to ensure events and programs such as New Student Orientation and Welcome Week align with Retention Strategies.
  • Manages student databases and explores application of information technology as applied to recruitment and retention programs.
  • Provides timely enrollment forecasting to the President, Executive Cabinet and Board of Trustees.
  • Assists in the planning, implementing, and assessing of the department.
  • Assists with developing and implementing services, activities, and opportunities that complete the student experience and enhance the college experience with the specific purpose of increasing student retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
  • Assists in defining and reporting relevant data for federal, state, and institutional reports including IPEDS, KBOR, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

This position is generally performed in an indoor office environment and frequently requires long periods of sitting; talking; hearing; fingers and hands use to write and/or operate computer equipment. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds. Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
