About the Department

The 900+ positions of the Facilities Division service the students and staff of the University’s teaching, research/administrative space and 2,240 acres of infrastructure. The Facilities Division provides design and building services, maintenance, custodial, landscape, solid waste removal, utility, mail, and motor pool services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Essential Job Duties

The primary purpose of the Auto Shop’s University Program Associate (UPA) is to programmatically support and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Auto Shop and to help keep our fleet operational and in regulatory compliance. The Auto Shop typically services almost 1,000 assets each year through approximately 2,500 work orders. This position is the designated point of contact for customer and vendor interactions.

Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Managing data in multiple platforms
  • Parts management
  • Transaction reconciliation
  • Data verification
  • Data and document storage
  • Accident reporting
  • Running reports
  • Off-site repairs
  • Assist with the Shop’s safety programs and waste collections management

Other Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
 
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Communicate successfully in oral and written form
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks and use good judgment in effectively and efficiently organizing work to meet established deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an office setting
  • Demonstrated computer software skills in Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software programs

Required License or Certification

  • North Carolina driver’s license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained
