Summary of Position

Reporting to the General Manager, this position supports coordinating all aspects of day-to-day operations, employee-related matters, and guests service for the dining hall.

This is an essential staff position in Hospitality Services and is necessary for food production/service operations through weather or other emergency conditions.

Duty/Responsibility

Daily management and supervision of all operating, adjunct and student staff, including develop and communicate all schedules (semester, daily, J-Term and summer); assign staff roles and duties; direct supervisors on menu changes; ensure customer service and food quality standards are met or exceeded through verbal communication, observation, and food tasting over meal periods; address guest concerns and equipment issues; and update staff of up to the minute changes.

Duty/Responsibility

Schedule and participate in student employee interviews, hiring, and onboarding. Complete hiring paperwork, including hiring tickets, I-9 forms, and coordination of international students with OISS. Hiring is ongoing throughout the year to ensure necessary staffing levels are met (100-150 student employees). Participate in OS and adjunct interviews and hiring decisions. Utilize the timekeeping software for timecard approvals and for correction of timecard errors. Assist in planning and executing Hospitality and Campus Services job fairs throughout the year.

Duty/Responsibility

Develop and maintain a high performing team through coaching and training. Create training materials and standard operating procedures for operating, adjunct and student employees. Keep track of all training and adjust as necessary to ensure the highest level of quality, service, safety, and sanitation.

Ensure that policies and procedures are being followed. Manage, coach, and discipline all staff. Assign, oversee, and participate in annual performance reviews.

Manage daily and weekly labor hours utilizing the Adjunct/Student Labor tool. Assist in food cost and waste management to meet budget requirements and sustainability targets. Oversee cleaning and housekeeping activities to ensure that the highest sanitation and safety standards are met.
Other duties/projects as assigned. Based on business needs, position will be required to assist with production and service requirements, as necessary.
