Position Announcement: Business Faculty

Northeastern Junior College faculty are expected to support the mission, vision, philosophy, and goals of the college. Faculty members are expected to create a positive and active learning environment in their classroom and laboratory. They should have high expectations of their students and themselves. Faculty members must realize that they contribute directly to student success and retention based on their abilities in the classroom. They must treat all students fairly and with respect. Faculty members must understand that students have different learning styles and must strive to provide variation in their teaching methods so that all students have the opportunity to learn and succeed. They must cooperate with other faculty, staff, and the community to make it possible for NJC to achieve its stated vision and philosophy.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Teaching a full academic load of 30 credit hours per year, which may be face-to-face, hybrid or online instruction. Teaching may include weekend or evening classes
  • Provide effective instruction as measured by student success and persistence rates
  • Invest in teaching and active learning, and inspire students to learn
  • Develop and maintain current curriculum and assessment criteria for courses
  • Participate in department and college committees and meetings
  • Conduct student advising
  • Maintain 6 in-person office hours per week

What We Require:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution related to the subject, or a Master's Degree in a different area with 30 hours of Master's level credit in the subject to be taught.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend events.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computers
  • Prior academic/work experience in an accredited institution of high education is preferred.

 

What We Can Offer:

This is a full-time faculty position. Annual salary is $43,000-$49,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Competitive fringe benefit package available which includes medical, dental, life, PERA Retirement Plan, 11 paid holidays, and several optional benefits. Position will begin August 2024.
