FULL TIME, TEMPORARY PARAMEDIC FACULTY

Finger Lakes Community College is currently recruiting an 18-Month Temporary Paramedic Faculty that may lead to a permanent tenure track faculty position.

Located in the Finger Lakes region in Geneva, NY, the College is in an area known for its beautiful natural surroundings, exquisite fall foliage, and local wineries. The NYS Certified Paramedic Instructor will conduct paramedic program courses in compliance with the NYS approved curriculum, policies and procedures as required by NYSDOHBEMS, NYSDOE, SUNY and national accreditation standards. This temporary full-time faculty position is an employee of the sponsor (FLCC) and accountable to the FLCC Paramedic Program Director and the FLCC Department Chair for Health Science & Human Performance. The instructor may also assume the role as Paramedic Program Director in the future.

1. Qualifications: AAS degree in an EMS or business-related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Currently NYS EMT-P certified and must maintain throughout employment. Currently certified as a NYSBEMS CIC at the paramedic level and must maintain such certification throughout employment. Prior EMS teaching experience as a CIC preferred. Certified BLS/ACLS/PALS/ITLS Instructor or equivalent entity respectively. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree prior to being considered for a full time tenure track position at the end of this temporary position.

2. Essential Functions:

  • A. Provide classroom instruction to students
  • B. Provide academic advisement through student meetings, evaluations and assessment of advisees' academic programs
  • C. Serve on college committees
  • D. Participate in curriculum development activities
  • E. Maintain office hours and be available to students as needed and as stated in the bargaining agreement
  • F. Participate in professional growth and development activities
  • G. Attend department meetings, commencement, and professional workshop days as defined by the college calendar
  • H. Perform other duties as requested by the Provost, Department Chairperson, and Paramedic Program Director

Benefits and Salary Range

  • Salary will depend on rank according to education and experience – Starting salary: Instructor: $56,132; Assistant Professor: $62,567.
