The Criminal Justice instructor is a full‐time, salaried position responsible for coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating educational instruction in psychology. These responsibilities involve developing and implementing the syllabus, achieving student learning outcomes, evaluating student performance, record-keeping, and related activities. Related activities include, but are not limited to, advising, serving on various committees, coordinating with business, industry, and universities, participating in recruiting and retention efforts, and participating in professional activities and organizations. This is a 9-month faculty position reporting to the District Director of Social Sciences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with students

PREFERRED:

• Master’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice
• Teaching experience at the Community College level
• Experience with classroom technology
• Experience with outcome and program assessment Ability to use Microsoft Office, Office 365, Canvas, and Outlook

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Teach criminal justice courses; prepare, administer, and grade periodic tests, assignments, and/or program assessment data; maintain a record of student attendance as required by the Mississippi Community College Board.

• Knowledge and support of College policies and procedures
• Must have the ability and vocabulary required to communicate with all levels of staff, faculty, students, and the public in the performance of the job
• Significant criminal justice experience Ability to travel between campus locations
