Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Graduate Assistant for Finance and Administration will support the School of Public Health’s Finance and Administration Team with their daily operations. This position will be responsible for:
  • Managing the shared Finance email and calendar
  • Collecting, compiling, and organizing data
  • Researching and finalizing procurement requests
  • Assisting with the daily business operations
  • Providing support to other SPH units as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

This position will work closely with the Business Manager of Human Resources and the Business Manager of Finance in the Dean’s Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • This position is only available to the current University of Maryland, College Park graduate students.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, time management skills.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, disciplined, trustworthy, and have excellent judgment.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining databases.
  • Experience with account reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of University accounting.
