Yoh is seeking a creative, Staff UX Product Designer to join our Autonomous Technology client on a contract-to-hire opportunity. This is a mission-critical role impacting the user experience and product design strategy for the control of unmanned aircraft. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience (including 5+ years of UX design experience) and live within a commutable distance to the office in San Diego, CA for an in-person work environment.

* Compensation: $85.00-100.00/hour (depending on experience level)

Responsibilities:

* Craft innovative solutions to intricate challenges, considering product requirements, user needs, and engineering feasibility.

* Become a recognized expert within your team, sharing deep insights into specific product domains.

* Foster alignment across disciplines through stakeholder engagements and collaborative workshops.

* Cover the full design spectrum-from conceptual sketches and journey maps to polished visuals and interactive prototypes.

* Articulate trade-offs between design choices with clarity.

* Uphold meticulous standards to ensure products meet design specifications.

* Balance progress with precision, leveraging established design principles when appropriate.



Required Qualifications:

* 5+ years of distinguished design experience, showcased in an online portfolio that demonstrates problem-solving prowess and advanced visual design skills.

* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, displaying proactive initiative.

* Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, integrating feedback from Product Management and Engineering.

* A deep interest in autonomy, robotics, and machine learning, spanning from foundational concepts to cutting-edge advancements.

* Proficiency in web and tablet app design, with a strong understanding of platform constraints.

* Experience presenting design concepts to senior stakeholders outside the design realm.

* Expertise in design and prototyping tools like Figma, Figjam, Lottie, and Lucid.

* Understanding of the entire software development lifecycle.

* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace, or a related field.
