TemporaryEssential Job Duties
A temporary Research Scholar position is available immediately for a skilled and trained plant molecular biologist. The job duties include, designing and implementing experiments to monitor plant responses to nutrient limitation including phosphate and nitrogen. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the experiments, harvesting time points and preparing samples for inositol pyrophosphate measurements and RNA-Seq analysis. Additional duties include expressing fusion constructs in planta and visualization by confocal microscopy.

Minimum Experience/Education
- Ph.D. (or relevant terminal degree), or Relevant Master’s degree with at least 5 years of formal postdegree professional work experience
Department Required Skills
- Extensive molecular biology experience in particular with RNA isolation from limiting amounts of plant tissue
- Experience with techniques for polysome pulldown for TRAP-Seq
- Experience with planta protein expression, purification and confocal and electron microscopy
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- 5 years of academic research
- Experience with RNA-Seq data analysis
- Background in plant gravitational biology
