About the Department

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and enrolling a large, highly-qualified, and diverse new student class each year. Our office efforts to encourage applications includes prospective student recruitment, campus visits, events, pre-college programs, college fairs, high school visits, social media, print, and electronic communications.

Essential Job Duties

The primary purpose of this Communications Coordinator position is to create and maintain efficient and effective communication campaigns in multiple formats to enhance our recruitment and enrollment efforts. The Communications Coordinator will create and maintain communications including our website, texting campaigns and email campaigns (recruitment, application, admission, campus visit, recruitment events, and recruitment travel).

Position will create communications campaigns in our admissions system (Slate). The Communications Coordinator will create and ensure quality assurance of data-files (including the ability to update and utilize queries). Interpret and manage University policies. Collaborate with admissions leadership to ensure communication campaigns are delivered in a timely manner and enhance our recruitment and enrollment outcomes.

Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with knowledge of appropriate communication best practices and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences at various stages in the recruitment, admission and enrollment cycle.
  • Ability to create, edit and maintain content in a variety of formats.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to understand and follow trends as it relates to our target audience (prospective and admitted first year and transfer students).
  • Must demonstrate a desire to enhance the communication efforts and ensure our communications meet recruitment and enrollment outcomes.
  • Must be reliable, flexible, self-motivated and demonstrate strong professionalism.
  • Must work well independently and in a collaborative setting.
  • Collaborative approach to work; this person will be working with multiple projects and leaders across the office to create and maintain communication projects.
