The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering (BAE) is jointly administered by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and the College of Engineering at NC State University. The department actively contributes to the academic, research and extension missions of the University.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at North Carolina State University invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research associate to work with Dr. Joe Sagues in the area of bioelectrochemical processing and reactor innovation. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility for extension. The desired start date is May 1st, 2024. The successful candidate is expected to generate peer-reviewed publications and assist with leading research efforts in bioelectrochemical reactor innovation. The successful candidate will assist in the development of a new bioelectrochemical processing technologies.

The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in chemical engineering, biological engineering, agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field.
The ideal candidate has conducted research focused on bioelectrochemical processing, writing, and verbal communication skills. Skills in carbon material characterization and electrochemical analysis are required. The hire will be expected to work with a diverse team comprised of engineers, biologists, and chemists from academia, industry, and national labs.
