The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Lead Steward for The Morris Inn. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
The Lead Steward position is responsible for all cleaning of dish-ware by machine, hand-washing of pots and utensils, and returning of all clean items to proper storage areas. The Lead Steward maintains cleanliness of dishwashing area by emptying of trash bins in the kitchen, deep cleaning the kitchen when applicable and sweeping/mopping floors and coolers on a daily basis. The Lead Steward keeps track of inventory, orders supplies and equipment, and works with the culinary department when banquets or events are scheduled, to plan for the food, supplies, and staff needed to execute a successful event. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the deep cleaning projects are scheduled and performed in a frequent manner and serves as a logistics master by bridging the gap between front of the house and back of the house operations.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of related work experience
