Position Summary

The Academic Support & Student Services Department is recruiting for a temporary part-time Camp Coordinator for the Drone Pilot Academy which will take place in June 2024.  This position is responsible for coordinating all logistical day to day operations by observing the grant deliverables and narrative. Additionally, this position is responsible for supervising Program Assistants. This position is grant funded and will be paid a total of $15 per hour of work not to exceed 72 hours of total work.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Mentor three Program Assistants 
  2. Maintain camp files to include student attendance, training certificates, time and effort reports, etc. 
  3. Assist in completing grant related reports 
  4. Organize off site field trips
  5. Foster a classroom environment that encourages interaction and collaboration among camp students and instructors
  6. Encourage student success in the class through active engagement, academic understanding, project accomplishment, and social interaction
  7. Implement effective communication with students, camp staff, and parents/guardians
  8. Participate in all required camp trainings, meetings, and classroom setup
  9. Provide feedback on the curriculum and camp operations
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned by camp staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with two years’ experience in secondary or post-secondary education
  • Effective oral, written, or interpersonal skills
  • Sensitivity to diverse groups and confidential information
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Internet, and Ellucian Banner

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
