About the Department

The Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) is where students discover connections and community. The division serves all students at NC State through three integrated components: academic affairs, student affairs, and University College.

NC State was named a great place to work in the 2022 Forbes annual survey as the best large employer in North Carolina. The Division of Academic and Student Affairs is the place to work for faculty and staff who are passionate about promoting the success of the whole student.

University Housing serves as a unit within DASA. For more information regarding the mission, vision, and values of University Housing, we encourage applicants to review the University Housing website.

Essential Job Duties

Living and Learning Villages are communities within University Housing residential spaces where students, staff, and/or faculty engage in programs that are tailored to Village-specific content and strategies. Villages provide students with the opportunity to connect with other NC State community members who share a common interest or lived experience through curricular and co-curricular programs.

Village Overview Specific to the Wellness and Women of Welch Villages

Established in fall of 2013, the Wellness Village is an opt-in living learning community focused on helping students achieve a balanced life-style through the incorporation of the six-elements of wellness (Community, Emotional, Financial, Physical, Purpose and Social) in their daily activities and experiences.

The Women of Welch (WOW) Village, established in 2010, is an opt-in living learning community that enhances women’s leadership opportunities outside the classroom through empowerment, leadership development, self-awareness, support and advocacy. WOW creates a holistic community that encourages individual women’s growth while challenging members to act as citizens of a global community.
