Job Description:

The Technical Operations Administrator for the Springfield Cyber Security Center of Excellence (CCE) at Union Station will be responsible for the technical administration and support of the center's critical and highly sensitive IT systems, including servers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN, computers, telephones, AV, classroom systems, and related technical infrastructure. This position works under the supervision of the Sr. Director/CISO and Cyber Range Manager to support the technical activities of the cyber center and SOC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems including networking, system administration, endpoint deployment and management, and experience in managing technical business operations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN, telephones, computers and other technical equipment used at the CCE.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Monitor performance and security of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Support technical operations, classrooms, conferences, and other business development activities for the center.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for cyber range, including system architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in cybersecurity, networking, and system administration.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No


Job Requirements:

  • Associate's degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in networking, system administration, or cybersecurity, including experience managing technical projects.
  • Experience with deploying, managing and securing computers in a networked environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of standards and practices related to information security, including state and federal regulatory requirements related to HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, and risk management.
  • Must be able to meet security standards for access to sensitive data or critical systems.

Additional Information:


Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 annually
Benefits: Yes, Full Time Position, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday.
Union: Non-Unit Professional (NUP)
