DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in Urgent Care, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of patient care. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California.

  • Minimum two years LVN experience.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Demonstrated LVN experience in direct patient care.

  • Strong skills in accurately taking and recording vital signs, height and weight; administering medication including injections; interviewing patients; and collecting and/or testing specimens.

  • Requires knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.

  • Able to care for medically complex acute patients in collaboration with registered nurses.

  • Excellent communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ACLS and/or ART.

  • Registration experience.

  • Urgent care experience.

  • IV Certification

  • POCT experience

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $69,322 - $86,193 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $33.20 - $41.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
